Germán Mingramm, was born on June 22, 1982 in Mexico City, Mexico. From a very early age he found a great interest in writing, since it gave him a great way to express himself, even in spite of his enormous introversion.
However, over the years, Germán also acquired considerable enthusiasm for graphic art, especially the more abstract, surreal and modern; as well as, for involving certain poetry and philosophical touches in what he wrote.
However, he studied Agricultural Engineering at the Monterrey Institute of Technology for Higher Studies (ITESM), Querétaro campus, since in parallel, he felt a strong call to work in the field and outdoors; And curiously, during his first semesters, he discovered another very important passion, that of plant genetic improvement.
Temperate, even despite being in this new stage; in which he had found a strong connection to science; Germán never lost his pulse towards art, letters, imagination and a way of connecting them with a very particular philosophy; For this reason, from the beginning of his studies, he began to write his first novel entitled, “En Tierra de Exiliados.”
When Germán finished his studies, the novel was almost finished; but he so he left her for several years; On hiatus, he to be able to concentrate on the professional side, working as a research assistant at the International Corn and Wheat Center (CIMMYT). There, he collaborated for more than 3 years with scientists; but especially, with those of the corn program, Harvest Plus, which is focused on the biofortification of Provitamin A, Iron and Zinc in the crop.
Likewise, during this same period, he continued with his academic studies, obtaining a master’s degree in Genetic Resources and Seed Productivity from the Postgraduate College.
However, at the beginning of 2012, Germán decided to resume his other great flight; writing, the world of art, subjectivity, poetry and letters, in order to finish his first novel; and simultaneously, to compile in another book the best poems that he had managed to write in recent years. “En Tierra de Exiliados” was published in early 2014 and his collection of poems, “Suspiros de la Vida” with 90 poems and abstract sketches was published at the end of 2012.
In 2016, he moved to Malaysia for 2 years where he created and led a maize genetic improvement program, within the Malaysian company, Green World Genetics (GWG). Now, he continues to coordinate and direct this program, but as an independent consultant, which gives him the freedom to undertake projects and consultancies in Mexico; as well as being able to continue dedicating himself to his art, so passionate about him. p>
